Description

Tithonia rotundifolia is a Mexican native.  All the beauty and attractant benefits in a compact size. This new dwarf size will accommodate many more gardens.

An annual in any region with freezing winters. It’s an amazing butterfly attractant and nectar plant. Brilliant orange flowers continue forming until a heavy freeze.  Growing only 2.5- 3 feet tall these bush-like plants make beautiful borders.  Drought tolerant once established due to a long tap root.   A very low maintenance plant.  Dried pods can be collected to have seeds for next year.

Sowing: When ground warms into the upper 60s and 70s, loosen soil and sow seeds, covering with 1/4″ of soil.  Keep watered until germination is underway.  Usually within 7-10 days.  Can also be started indoors 6 weeks before planting outdoors.
