White Swamp Milkweed Plant, Asclepias Incarnata White

Description

Asclepias incarnata white aka White Swamp Milkweed.  This beautiful  native milkweed does well with wet feet, hence the name.  If you have a low-lying area that gets soggy during the rainy season this is the milkweed to plant.

Growing.  Keep well watered the first year.  A well established plant will still prefer to be kept moist.  Getting about 4’-6′ tall and the smaller leaves fill in enough to provide a lot of food for the caterpillars. The original plant will not spread via roots like the Common M. but will self seed and I’ve found those seedlings can be transplanted while young.  Each year the original root-ball will send up more stems.
